Caol Ila is one of the world’s most versatile distillates – equally happy at a variety of different ages and matured in any number of different cask types. This release has been matured in a single hogshead for 12 years before being bottled at natural cask strength.

NOSE: Billowing coastalness presents with mineral salts, chiselled granite, brine and langoustines. Preserved lemons are joined by medicinalness from antiseptic and smoked teas.

 

PALATE: A well-rounded arrival of salinity and coastally-tinged peat smoke sits alongside fish soup, treated bandages and alluvialness from shale, shingle and wet beach sand.

 

FINISH: Sustained sweet lemon oils converge with fading medicinal peat smoke.
