Since 2000 there has not been a mash tun at Teaninich. Instead, the distillery utilises a hammer mill mash filter – the only one operational at a Scotch malt distillery. The result of this modern form of sugar extraction is an exceptionally clear wort – and stemming from this a whisky style that is bright, fresh and cereal-driven.

NOSE: Cooking apples, doughy malt and porridge are joined by coastal limestone, sunflower oil and pressed meadow flowers.

PALATE: Vibrant barley sugars and preserved lemon juice lead into baked brioche buns, malt loaf, woollen jumpers and touches of minerality.

FINISH: Lingering sweet malt and baking doughs alongside tangy citrus.
